1. Is CreatorAlerts free?

Yes — the free tier lets you pick 4 platforms and add 1 watch per platform, no credit card required. Paid tiers (Essentials, Standard, Pro) unlock more watches, custom wording, and Pro’s live-status widget.

2. How do I set it up?

Invite the bot, then run /portal in your server for a direct link to your dashboard (or go to app.creatoralerts.net). Pick a notification channel, add a creator, done — no config files or command walls.

3. Which permissions does the bot need, and why?

Send Messages/Embed Links to post alerts (required). Other permissions like Manage Channels (World Clocks) or Manage Roles (role pings) are optional — removing one only disables that specific feature; everything else keeps working.

4. Can I ping a role or @everyone when a creator goes live?

Yes. Edit any watch to select a specific role to ping (recommended) or enable @everyone. The bot needs the relevant Mention permission for pings to fire.

5. Can I customise the announcement text and embed colours?

Yes — set guild-wide templates per platform (Essentials+), or per-watch overrides (Pro). Embed colours are customisable from Standard and above.

6. What happens if I hit my watch limit?

Existing watches keep working — nothing is ever silently removed. You just can’t add new ones until you upgrade or remove one.

7. My announcements aren't posting — what do I check?

Check the watch isn’t paused, confirm the bot has Send Messages/Embed Links in that channel, confirm the bot’s still in your server, and note streaming platforms can have a short delay (30–60s polling).

8. What's the Live Status Widget?

A Pro feature — embed a real-time “live now” indicator for your creators directly on your own website, powered by a secure per-server API key.
