Pixel Fishing is a cosy fishing game about timing
Run /fish and a float goes in the water. Somewhere between three and ten seconds later the panel changes and says SOMETHING’S ON. Press REEL! as fast as you can. React quickly enough and you get a perfect hookset: a heavier fish, and the only way in the game to land a trophy. React too slowly and it’s gone. Press before the bite and you scare it off. Rarer fish give you less time.
Nothing you buy changes that. Reels buy a wider window, line decides how heavy a fish you can hold before it snaps, and lures change which species you hook rather than how often.
What you’re working towards
Sell what you land, open deeper water, and work down from the mangroves to the Philippine Trench eight kilometres below. Deeper water holds rarer and heavier fish on tighter windows. Some species are protected and can’t be sold: carry tag kits, tag and release them, and spend the research credit on permits for the deepest water.
Everything you catch goes into a record book of pixel art, with your personal best for each of 88 species. It’s the one thing the game never takes back, even if you hand everything else in for prestige.
