Rook verifies new members and tells your staff which accounts are alts of other members, or of people you banned. It never stores an IP address, so there are none to leak. Every protection feature is free.
How verification worksNew members press Verify in your server, or open the link Rook DMs them when they join. A short check runs in their browser, usually with nothing to click. When it passes, they get your Verified role. The verify page is in 18 languages.
What your staff seeEvery check that matters goes to your log channel, with who it matched and why:
- Alt detected: same device or connection as another member
- Alt of a banned member: linked to someone you banned
- Ban evasion blocked: same device as someone you banned, so they’re kept out
- Ban Beacon match: linked to people banned in other servers
- VPN blocked or Account too new: a rule you chose
Blocks have a Verify anyway button, so a moderator can let someone in with one click. If a blocked member gets in later, their old alert updates so nobody acts on it.
Ban BeaconServers that turn on Ban Beacon warn each other when someone they banned joins. Your staff see how many servers banned that person, and nothing more. It’s free, and one tap turns it on.
Rules you choose- Block VPNs and hosting networks, or Tor
- Set a minimum account age
- Flag alts for your staff, or keep them out
Members are told what to fix, such as turning off their VPN, and can try again. iCloud Private Relay is never blocked.
Lock the serverOptional. Newcomers see only your verify and rules channels until they verify. Members already here keep access, and Unlock puts back every permission Rook changed. On big servers, Rook can lock for newcomers only, which takes minutes.
Raid alertsRook learns how fast people usually join your server and alerts your staff when joins jump far past that, so a busy day doesn’t set it off.
Scam image protectionOptional. Hacked accounts post fake giveaway and crypto images that word filters can’t read. Rook removes them as they’re posted.
PrivacyRook turns each IP address into a keyed fingerprint as it arrives and drops the address. Every server gets different fingerprints, so even a stolen database can’t link anyone across servers. Ban Beacon shares only bans, and other servers see a count. Members can download their data with /rook privacy, or delete it once they’ve left the server. Rook is hosted in the EU.
Rook keeps the Verified role your members already have, so nobody verifies again. Post Rook’s panel where members already verify, then remove the old bot.
Setup takes about a minute- Add Rook to your server
- Run
/rook setup, or sign in at rook.bot - Quick setup reads your server and suggests your Verified role, a verify channel and a log channel
