Social media videos that actually play in Discord.

Someone drops an Instagram reel or a TikTok link, and all you get is a login wall or a dead preview. Univid replies with the video itself, as a normal Discord attachment anyone can watch without an account.

• Automatically. Post a link and Univid replies with the video, then tidies away the original broken preview.
• /video url: Fetch the video from a link on request.
• Right-click a message → Apps → Get video. Pull the video out of a link someone else posted.

You can also install Univid to your own account and use the two commands in any server or DM, even where the bot hasn’t been invited.

• Fits the upload limit. Videos are encoded to fit wherever they’re posted: 10 MB by default, more on boosted servers. Quality only drops as far as it has to.
• Long videos. If a video is too long to post whole, you choose: the first part that fits, a split into several parts, or just the link.
• Clear failures. When a video can’t be fetched, Univid tells you why in a sentence, such as a private post or a removed one.
• Stays out of the way. Wrap a link in <angle brackets> and Univid ignores it. Posts with no video are skipped silently.

• /autodetect off stops automatic replies. The commands keep working.
• /autodetect on role:@Role limits automatic replies to members with one role.

Both need the Manage Server permission.

/univid premium shows what a subscription adds: videos up to 30 minutes long, sharper encodes, splits of up to 8 parts, and the front of the queue. Everything above is free.

Univid reads messages only to find links to the supported sites, and stores no message text, usernames or user IDs. Fetched videos are cached for up to 7 days so a reposted clip doesn’t have to be downloaded again.
