The Enoch species developed from a regular deer. However, due to climate change their physical traits started to deform. Their usual food supply of herbs went extinct causing them to adapt with more predatory traits. Soon, humans were killed off due to their own pollution. The Enoch soon took advantage of the leftover cloth, wearing it to show others how they were brave enough to venture into the abandoned territory. These abandoned areas were unknowingly killing the adventurers. Toxic air would slowly degrade their lungs. Soon, only one was left, the only Enoch that was too scared to head into the poison. Riddled with grief for his fallen friends he wore the cloak of the first to die and shed his horns for the coming downfall. Dirt slowly began to take the antlers into the ground, until the mutated nutrients of the soil combined with the antlers. Soon enough, many of the species sprouted from the ground, born anew with their own special connection to nature.
Extra features developed later on. In order to withstand the harsh air conditions, they gathered old bones. Experts would assemble the bones in a mask-like way in order to filter out degraded air. Despite how the air quality has returned to normal after all these years, they still wear the mask as a sign of respect and traditions. Some males will even use the smoothness of their masks to attract a mate.
