Ani is an all-in-one anime bot for Discord. It offers local watchlists, RSS news feeds, anime/manga/character search, theme song playback in voice channels, and server moderation tools. Everything works with slash commands or a customizable prefix.
📋 Personal Anime & Manga Lists
Users can keep a personal list of anime and manga they’ve watched, are watching, or plan to watch. This is stored locally by the bot—there is no connection to MyAnimeList or any external account. It’s just a convenient way to remember what you’ve seen and what you thought of it.
• /addanilist title: [name] – Search for an anime and add it to your list
• /addmangalist title: [name] – Search for a manga and add it to your list
• /animelist – View your anime list with statuses, scores, and progress
• /mangalist – View your manga list
• /removelist [number or title] – Remove an entry from your anime list
After picking a title, a form appears where you can set:
- Status (watching/completed/plan to watch/on hold/dropped)
- Score out of 10
- Episodes or chapters watched/read
The bot saves everything locally. No sign‑ups, no external services.

📰 Anime News
News updates from several anime outlets can be sent to any text channel automatically.
Setup:
- Go to the channel where news should appear
- Use /enablenews
- Pick the sources to enable from the dropdown
The bot checks for new articles regularly and posts them with images and links. Use /disablenews to stop updates from specific sources.
🔍 Search & Discovery
Get information about anime, manga, and characters using data from MyAnimeList (via Jikan).
• /srch anim title: [name] – Synopsis, score, episode count, air dates, and a MAL link
• /srch manga title: [name] – Chapters, volumes, publication info, and MAL link
• /srch char name: [name] – Character details including voice actors and anime appearances
Other browsing commands:
• /upcoming – Anime premiering next season
• /airing – Currently airing shows ranked by score
• /trends – Most popular anime this season
• /schedule – Weekly broadcast calendar
• /random [genre] – Random anime, optionally filtered by genre
• /recommend title: [name] – Recommendations based on a show you like
• /calculate title: [name] – Total watch time estimate for a series
• /studioworks name: [studio] – Anime produced by a given studio
🎵 Play Openings & Endings in Voice
Search for and play anime theme songs directly in a voice channel.
- Type /animtheme title: [anime name]
- A menu lists the openings and endings found
- Click “Play Theme” and choose a song
- The bot joins the voice channel and streams the audio from YouTube
The bot pre‑searches in the background so playback starts quickly. Only one song can play per server at a time.

Basic moderation tools with built‑in permission checks.
• /kick @user [reason] – Kick a member
• /ban @user [reason] – Ban a member (deletes 7 days of messages)
• /unban user_id [reason] – Unban a user by Discord ID
• /purge amount [filters] – Bulk delete messages
⏰ AFK System
Let others know when you’re away.
• /afk set [reason] – Sets AFK status and changes nickname
• /afk list – Shows all AFK users in the server
🔧 Custom Prefix
The default prefix is ? but can be changed per server with /setprefix. All commands also work as slash commands.
