Bad Word Blocker Discord Bot

Bad Word Blocker is a simple Discord bot that will keep your server clean from bad words. The default word list that is used when it joins a server has over 500 English bad words.

When someone sends a word found in the bad word list for your server, Bad Word Blocker deletes the message and will give them a “strike”. When a user reaches a certain number of strikes, the bot can kick, ban, or mute them. You can configure this with limit command.

1. Invite it to your server by pressing the Invite button above
2. Make sure it has the “Administrator” permission in your server so it can moderate.

Thats it! The bot should start moderating on its own.

Bad Word Blocker uses slash commands, which means you can just type a / and a list containing all commands will show up. The most notable commands are:

wordlist add - Adds a word to the bad word list

wordlist remove - Removes a word from the bad word list

badwordlist view - Sends you a txt file in DMs containing the bad word list

limit - Sets a limit on the amount of strikes a member can get before they get a punishment

Question: The bot gives me a strike but doesn’t delete the message
Answer: Sometimes when the bot deletes a message, the person who sent the message can still see it. This is a problem in Discord. Since the bot is deleting the message so fast, your device doesn’t have enough time to remove it from it’s memory. You can ask a friend to check if it was actually deleted or not.

Question: The bot is not sending any messages
Answer: Make sure the bot has the Manage Messages, Send Messages, and Manage Roles in your server. Or, you can just give it the Administrator permission so it has all permissions.

Question: How do I add and remove words the bot will filter?
Answer: Like mentioned above, you can use the badwordlist add and badwordlist remove commands.
