I built this bot because I was tired of Discord communities feeling disconnected from each other. There are so many amazing people across different servers who could benefit from talking to each other, but no easy way to make those connections happen.
Coffee Chat solves this by creating a simple system for cross-server networking. It’s not fancy or complicated - it just works.
What it actually does:- Lets you post a topic you want to chat about
- Shows you topics other people want to discuss
- Connects you through DMs when there’s a match
- Tracks some basic stats so you can see your progress
The whole thing runs on a single /coffee
command that opens a menu with buttons. No complicated prefix commands to remember.
- Developers finding mentors in their programming language
- Students connecting with professionals in their field
- Community members meeting people with similar interests
- People seeking advice on specific topics
- Server owners building connections between their communities
The bot uses a SQLite database to track requests and chats. It’s built with discord.py and uses button-based UIs for all interactions. Messages are relayed through the bot’s DMs during active chats.
I’m actively developing this and adding features based on user feedback. If you have ideas for improvements, join the support server and let me know!
This isn’t a bot with a million features - it does one thing really well. If you’re looking to create meaningful connections across Discord’s ecosystem, give it a try.
