Casino and crypto giveaway scams: screenshots of a celebrity, often MrBeast, “giving away” money with a promo code, usually posted by a hijacked account. Fake Nitro, QR-code login and invite scams are planned.Will it flag normal chat about casinos or crypto?
No. In message text, Howie only looks for links to known scam domains. Words like “casino” or “crypto” are never enough on their own, and it acts only when it’s confident a post is a scam.What does Howie do when it catches a scam?
It deletes every copy, then bans, kicks or times out the account, or only deletes, as you pick in/setup. The default is a 1-hour timeout, since hijacked accounts belong to real people. Every action shows in your Audit Log.Why didn’t Howie act on a scam post?
Usually role position: move Howie’s role above your members’ roles. Otherwise, run/setup to see any missing permission, and check that Howie can see the channel and the member isn’t in a role you skip.Howie acted on a real message. What now?
Lift the timeout or ban in Discord, or let the member undo it at howie.lol/appeal.A member’s account was hijacked. Now what?
They’re a victim, not a scammer. Have them change their password, turn on 2FA and remove Authorized Apps they don’t know. Then they can undo Howie’s action at howie.lol/appeal, unless your server turned appeals off.Why does Howie need these permissions?
Each one powers a feature: deleting posts, the action you pick, and Manage Server for its own AutoMod rules only. A few are reserved for future features. Howie never asks for Administrator. DetailsDoes Howie read or store our messages?
