Sentinel is a Discord security and community-intelligence bot designed to help participating communities identify known high-risk server associations while maintaining a structured and transparent appeal process.
Sentinel maintains a centrally managed registry of Discord servers that have been reviewed and classified for concerns such as cheating, leaking, malicious development, ban evasion, scamming, raiding, or similar activity.
Participating Discord communities can use Sentinel to view the current restricted-server registry and configure how confirmed association records are handled when a member joins their server.
Partner Server ProtectionServer owners can configure Sentinel to:
- Notify authorized staff of a confirmed association
- Send the affected user information about the Sentinel appeal process
- Keep a private log of blocked or flagged join attempts
- Restrict those logs to Discord roles selected by the server owner
- Optionally remove users with confirmed Sentinel association records based on the participating server’s own policy
Partner communities do not receive access to Sentinel’s private evidence, internal staff notes, central management tools, or confidential appeal records.
Fair Appeal ProcessA server association does not automatically mean that a user cheated, leaked content, or committed misconduct.
Sentinel distinguishes between an observed association and a finding of misconduct.
Users who believe a record is incorrect, outdated, misleading, or requires additional context are directed to the official Sentinel Appeals server, where they can submit a private appeal for review.
Appeals are handled through a structured case system with private review channels, reviewer assignments, decision records, and audit history.
Privacy & TransparencySentinel is designed around controlled access to sensitive information.
Participating servers can see public registry information necessary for their own security decisions, while detailed evidence, internal notes, staff information, and appeal material remain restricted to authorized Sentinel reviewers.
Sentinel also does not claim to see every Discord server a person belongs to. Association records must come from information legitimately available to Sentinel or evidence submitted for review.
