Word Train is a multiplayer word-chain game designed for Discord communities of all sizes. Whether you’re playing with friends, running a community server, or looking for a fun activity to keep members engaged, Word Train turns simple words into an endless challenge.
The rules are easy to learn:
Start with any valid word.
The next player must use a word beginning with the final letter of the previous word.
Every valid word extends the chain and earns points.
Words cannot be reused within the current chain.
The same player cannot play twice in a row.
One mistake derails the train and starts a brand-new chain.
Simple to play. Surprisingly difficult to master.
🎨 Visual Game Cards
Word Train now features beautifully designed game cards that make gameplay more engaging and easier to follow.
🟢 Word Accepted – Displays the accepted word, next required letter, current chain length, points earned and total points.
🟠 Word Already Used – Warns when a word has already been played and reminds players which letter to use.
🟠 Wait Your Turn – Reminds players to let someone else continue the chain before playing again.
🔴 Train Derailed – Shows when a chain has ended, including the final chain length and last valid word.
The visual cards make it easy to follow the action, even during fast-paced games.
🌍 Multiple Languages & Smart Dictionaries
Word Train currently supports English and Norwegian, backed by extensive local dictionaries.
The English dictionary contains over 500,000 words, allowing players to explore a wide variety of vocabulary.
Word Train also integrates with Wiktionary.
If a word isn’t found in the local dictionary, Word Train can check Wiktionary to see whether it’s valid. Verified words can then be added to the local dictionary for faster recognition in future games.
Every Discord server selects its own active language, allowing communities to play in the language that fits them best.
More languages may be added in future updates based on community feedback.

Getting started takes just a few moments.
Invite Word Train to your Discord server.
Select a game channel using /set channel.
Choose your preferred language.
Use /permissions to verify that Word Train has the permissions it needs.
Important: Word Train requires the Attach Files permission in its game channel to display visual game cards.
Role rewards are optional and can be configured separately.
